RC-1: RS-485 Multidrop Remote Interface

Our RC-1 is a RS-485 compatable multidrop interface that provides 4 digital inputs and 4 relay outputs that can be controlled from a remote host computer. Full multidrop support is provided to allow up to 254 distributed interface controllers to be driven on a single 3 wire interface line over a distance of up to 400 meters at 9600 BPS.

The use of an industry standard DS75176 RS-485 driver ensures a high level of compatability with the RS-485 standard. Full diagnostic indicators are installed to provide a rapid, visual indication of data flow on the RS-485 bus, as well as indicating the state of each input and output.

To ensure easy repair, the RS-485 line drivers are fully socketed to allow for rapid replacement in the unlikely event that they are damaged through an external high energy surge.

Power is able to be provided from an external 7 - 35v DC source.
